Directed by Tom Hammock, U.S.A. Proof that a decent budget and a good cinematographer don’t mean shit when up against a crap screenplay and a clueless director. This cinematic equivalent of a vapid shrug of the shoulders is a millennial’s vision of the post-apocalypse genre: its story of Kendal, a young woman trying to survive in a world without water, has clearly been filtered through any number of teen soap operas. Cliches abound and stupidity runs rampant; when our heroine suddenly turns into a sword-wielding ninja, you can’t help but seriously wonder what the makers of this were thinking. Really not very good at all. 1/5.
