Directed by Norman J. Warren, U.K. I was looking forward to this one, but unfortunately it turned out to be a bit of a stodgy disappointment. Sweet-faced cutie Candace Glendenning stars as Catherine, a young woman who becomes stranded at her uncle Alexander’s house. Alexander (Michael Gough) is a satanist who plans to sacrifice Catherine in a ritual to bring his dead wife back to life. There are a couple of splashy gore moments, but they feel arbitrarily inserted and don’t contribute to any sense of growing danger or tension. Not helping matters are the dreadful Martin Potter as cousin Stephen and a horrible, horrible soundtrack. 3/5.
